I’m So Over You, Chris Brown.
Arschloch (german) – asshole
– literal translation: asshole
Three years ago, when I saw the photo of a bruised and battered Rihanna I was shocked. And I was even more shocked when I heard that her own boyfriend Chris Brown had done that to her.
I always liked Chris Brown. I thought he was sweet, very talented, a great dancer and entertainer. I say “was”, because even though he still may be talented, I can’t look at him this way anymore. To me he will always be a woman beater. A monster. He was only 19 years old when this happened. A kid!
When reports of the incident surfaced, CB hired a crisis management team. They released a statement about how “sorry and saddened” he was. Boo-hoo. Give the boy a tissue. He should be embarrassed and ashamed.
I read a few statements by other celebrities, all kind of saying they didn’t want to get involved, because no one really knows what happened that night. Umm, excuse me? I don’t need to know what went down that night to know that what CB did was absolutely disgusting and sickening.
Jay-Z and Usher were two of the very few to actually speak out for Rihanna and against Chris Brown. Usher was caught on video commenting on CB being photographed in Miami only a few days after the incident. Riding a jet ski. And smiling. I agree with Usher when he says “I’m a little disappointed in this photo. After the other photo? C’mon, Chris. Have a little bit of remorse, man. The man’s on Jet Skis? Like, just relaxing in Miami?” Seriously, WTF!? He should have been hiding in his house. And he should have never come back.
Usher got so much pressure after this comment that he had to publicly apologize for it. There is something seriously wrong when a man who speaks out against a woman beater and for the victim has to apologize for it. Am I right?
Why am I talking about this now, three years later? Well, because he’s back. Not that he hasn’t been back before. At least musically. But after being banned from the Grammy’s for three years (the incident happened the night before the 2009 Grammy’s and his performance for that night was canceled) he was back this year. This year he did get to perform. And people celebrated him like the superstar he once was. And in my eyes should never be again.
Why do people think it’s okay for this guy to perform anywhere that is not behind bars? Why are people celebrating him? Why are people buying his records? Why are mothers not telling their children, and especially their daughters that this man does not deserve any of this?
We are teaching children that it’s okay for a man to hit (or in this case brutally beat up) a woman. Men can get away with it apparently. Unfortunately many men do. But they are also not celebrities and not everybody knows about it.
Now Rihanna and Chris Brown recorded a song together. What!? There’s a restraining order against him, but she records a song with him? WHY!?
It’s called “Birthday Cake” and I listened to it for you so you don’t have to. Here are just a few excerpts:
CB: Girl, I wanna f*ck you right now. Been a long time, I been missing your body.
Rihanna: Love the way you do it when you do it like that.
Rihanna: Daddy, make a wish. Put this cake in your face.
CB: It’s not even her birthday. But I wanna lick the icing off. Give it to her in the worst way.
I think you already have, CB. No need for more.
This makes me wonder. Where is this girl’s mother? What kind of job are her advisors doing? A shitty one, apparently.
I don’t understand this. Trust me, I know how hard it is to get over a relationship. But he wasn’t just mean to her. He didn’t just cheat on her. He beat her up and she’s telling him that it’s okay. It’s NOT okay, Rihanna! Someone needs to tell her that.
What kind of message is she sending to girls and women all over the world?
Some people I’ve talked to about this couldn’t really understand why I have such a huge problem with this. But what’s not to understand. He’s a douche and she needs help.
Any man who beats a woman does not deserve the attention he has been getting in the last three years. People should not be talking about him anymore. Kids should not know who he is.
This whole thing makes me very angry and upset.
